Don’t let the appearance of this frothy glass of orange juice deceive you. It definitely is not what it seems. Oh, it’s tangy and cooling all right, but it’s also much more. This actually is a wonderful fruity cooler designed for pool-side lolling or sunset watching.

It does contain orange juice . . . but peaches are in there as well, and it can be given an extra kick by adding vodka or rum or gin. Serve it in a tall glass trimmed with mint sprigs dipped in powdered sugar or orange blossoms. Or, if your prefer, serve it in a stemmed compote or champagne saucer. Its slushy chill will provide a delightful cooling touch on a hot day.

Just be sure to have your blender handy--and the ingredients to make an extra batch. Seconds are sure to be in demand.
