A 15-year-old Anaheim boy was seriously injured when hit by a single shot fired from a moving car during a street fight in the 100 block of South Kroeger Street in Anaheim early Saturday, police said.

The car then ran over the youth’s 19-year-old friend, seriously injuring him.

The fight was between rival groups, but police said they did not know if it was gang-related.

Police said the fight began about 1:30 a.m. when two men, Freddie Cisneros, 18, of Fullerton and Juan Alvarez, 19, of Placentia drove through the intersection of South Kroeger Street and Lincoln Avenue.

Standing on the corner were four young men who police said had been involved with Cisneros and Alvarez in an unspecified “altercation” in Fullerton the week before.

The four males on the corner were identified by police as Angel Luna, 15, of Anaheim; Eddie Mancillas, 19, of Yorba Linda; Louis Fernandez, 17, of Anaheim, and Anthony Galvan, 18, of Anaheim.

The two groups began exchanging taunts, witnesses told police. The fight soon escalated as the six began hurling bricks and bottles, police said.

Cisneros, who was a passenger in the car, pulled out a small-caliber handgun and fired several times at the four on the street corner, police said.

One shot struck Luna, police said. He was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was listed in fair condition Saturday.

Also seriously injured was Mancillas, who ran from the corner when the shooting began, police said. But Alvarez, who was at the wheel of the car, sped up, knocked Mancillas down and ran over him, police said.

Mancillas was taken to Western Medical Center in Anaheim where he was listed in fair condition.

Fernandez and Galvan, the two others who had been standing with Mancillas and Luna on the corner, were not injured, police said.

Saturday, Cisneros was being held in Anaheim City Jail on suspicion of attempted murder, a jail spokeswoman said. He is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail, she said.

Alvarez was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and is being held in lieu of $10,000 bail, the spokeswoman said.
