Two men died in separate freeway accidents Saturday in the San Fernando Valley, the California Highway Patrol reported.
In one crash, an unidentified man about 30 years old died when his car was rear-ended by another vehicle on the southbound San Diego Freeway near Devonshire Street shortly before noon.
Officer Margaret Sowers said the victim, who was alone in his car, had changed lanes abruptly just before the collision.
The driver of the other car, 25-year-old Shahim Moussavi of Burbank, was taken to Granada Hills Community Hospital, where he was reported in stable condition. He was not charged in the accident.
At 12:30 a.m., 53-year-old Hagop Sevilan of Los Angeles was killed when the car in which he was a passenger went off the Ventura Freeway near Haskell Avenue, hitting a tree and guardrail, Sowers said.
The driver, Assham Aslamian, 56, and two other passengers, George Korkige, 49, and Aagop Shekiromian, 49, all of North Hollywood, were hospitalized with moderate injuries, Sowers said. The investigation of the accident was not complete, she said.
