Kuramoto Gets Win Despite Poor Finish
Despite two bogeys on the last three holes, Masahiro Kuramoto scored a two-stroke victory in the Sendaihoso golf tournament Sunday for his first win of the season.
Kuramoto, who also shot three birdies for a 70, carded a 9-under-par 204 total in his three trips over the 6,590-yard, par-71 Omote Zao Kokusai Golf Club course.
The victory was worth $48,560.
Tournament play on Friday was canceled due to heavy rains and strong winds.
Futoshi Irino, who shared the second-round lead with Kuramoto and Masashi Ozaki, shot a 72 Sunday for a 206 total and was alone in second spot.
