Santa Monica Hospital Medical Center laid off 26 administrative workers and eliminated about 75 other unoccupied positions to accommodate a seasonal drop in patients. Unihealth America, the hospital’s nonprofit parent company, said the layoffs would not affect the quality of health care and had nothing to do with the merger that formed Unihealth on June 1.
