Attacks on Disabled Linked to One Man

Garden Grove police have linked a man to 18 crimes, including the rape and molestation of severely handicapped women.

“He’s apparently seeking out victims that are vulnerable, people who are home alone, or home with children in an area where he has no resistance,” Garden Grove Police Lt. Ken Whitlach said.

All of the crimes have occurred in a 6-mile area of the city. They include four rapes, two incidents of molestation, attempted rapes, burglaries and prowling.

His victims range in age from 14 to 70 and he generally strikes at night, police said.

One victim, a blind woman who lives at the Petite Amis home, a facility for the disabled where some of the attacks have occurred, said she felt someone’s leg near her bed and thought it was her disabled roommate.
