Stefka Kostadinova of Bulgaria, world record-holder and world champion in the women’s high jump, was upset by Cuba’s Sylvia Costa in an International Amateur Athletic Federation meet at Sofia, Bulgaria.
Kostadinova, whose world record is 6-10, and who has the year’s best mark of 6-8, cleared only 6-6 and finished second behind Costa’s 6-7.
