Danny Sullivan broke a one-lap track record, averaging 138.068 m.p.h. to win his third pole position of the season, in qualifying for today’s Budweiser Cleveland Grand Prix. Sullivan, driving a Penske-Chevrolet, eclipsed the 136.287-m.p.h. record set by Roberto Guerrero, the 1987 pole-sitter.
