A man and a woman were shot to death Sunday inside their Panorama City home moments after they returned from a nearby grocery store, Los Angeles police said.

Police released an all-points bulletin for a suspect in the shootings--a woman who lived at the same house and was believed to be the girlfriend of the slain man.

The victims, whose names were being withheld pending notification of relatives, were found about 2 p.m. in the 8100 block of Lennox Avenue, said Lt. A.L. Durrer.

The woman was lying in the kitchen, and the man was in the doorway of the bedroom, Durrer said. Paramedics took the man to Kaiser Hospital in Panorama City and the woman to Panorama Memorial Hospital. Both died within an hour of the shootings, he said.

Police were searching for Charisse Brown, 33, who shared the two-bedroom home with the victims. Durrer said Brown, who is pregnant, was wearing blue jeans, a white T-shirt and only one tennis shoe. She is believed to have left on foot carrying the small-caliber handgun used in the slayings, he said.

“It appears to have been some kind of domestic dispute that escalated into a shooting,” Durrer said.

He said the victims had just walked back from a nearby grocery store. Two bags of groceries were in the kitchen, and a shopping cart with a bag of food was outside on the lawn when police arrived.

Neighbors said Brown has sickle-cell anemia; one said she walked with difficulty.

Police said the victims and Brown were the only residents of the house. However, neighbors said Brown’s 12- or 13-year-old son had lived with the three, but left Saturday to visit his father.
