SDSU May Be Without Pair
The status of Alfred Jackson and Patrick Rowe, San Diego State’s starting wide receivers, is uncertain for the Aztecs’ Western Athletic Conference home opener Sunday night against Air Force.
Jackson aggravated a back strain that had been bothering him for some time, and Rowe bruised a thigh muscle returning a kickoff in Saturday’s 59-6 loss at UCLA.
Both players missed practice Tuesday, but Rowe’s injury is considered more serious. Sophomore tailback Tommy Booker probably will replace Rowe on kick returns, Coach Denny Stolz said.
