Mitch Green Charged With Disorderly Conduct

Boxer Mitch Green was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct in New York Wednesday after police found him “ranting and raving” and “acting irrationally” on a Harlem street corner.

Green “stopped his car in the middle of the street and started yelling--it was completely irrational,” Sgt. Martin Dillon of the 25th Precinct said.

Sgt. Ed Burns, a police spokesman, said officers had to use a 50,000-volt electronic stun gun to subdue Green after they responded to a call from a woman who complained about Green’s behavior.

Last month, Green was involved in a street scuffle in Harlem with heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson.

Emergency Service Unit officers, who were called to help the patrol officers, used the stun gun and then took Green to Metropolitan Hospital for evaluation. He was released from the hospital, then arrested.

Green also was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license and criminal possession of a controlled substance. His license has been suspended 54 times.
