Sheriff’s deputies Friday found two apparent murder victims, killed in separate incidents, but have been unable to identify either.

The body of a young Latino male was found in a field in the 2200 block of North Twin Oaks Valley Road in North County. He carried no identification, according to Sheriff’s Sgt. Manny Castillo. The victim, found about 7 a.m. by a group of farm workers, had been beaten about the head, Castillo said.

Near El Cajon, a woman found the body of a Latina about 18 to 25 years old in a vacant house she was planning on renting in the 2400 block of Euclid Avenue, according to Lt. William Baxter of the sheriff’s homicide unit.

Baxter said the cause of the woman’s death was not apparent and an autopsy will be performed.

The dead woman was described as about 5 feet, 8 inches tall, with brown eyes and long, straight dark-brown hair hanging down to the middle of her back. She was wearing green pants, a denim jacket and pink shoes.
