An Olympic Psalm

The almighty BUCK is NBC’s shepherd,

They shall not want.

It maketh them lie down in constant commercials,

It leadeth them to destroy the Olympic games.

It refreshes their soul,

It guides them in the path of “happy talk” and less event coverage.

Yea, though the public walks through the valley of the shadow of fifth-rate commentators, NBC fears no evil for the new TV season hasn’t begun yet.

How we long for Jim McKay and his staff to comfort us.

ABC always laid out the games before us.

They anointed our heads with competent sportscasters.

Our coverage cup ranneth over with joy.

Surely goodness shall follow us to the ’92 Olympics if ABC gets them.

But if it’s NBC again we shall dwell in the house of boredom for all the days of the games.
