Californian Dies as W. German Air Show Toll Hits 69

RAMSTEIN, West Germany — The death toll from the Ramstein air show disaster Aug. 28 has risen to 69 with the death of a fourth American victim, the Air Force said Monday.
A statement said the latest victim, Air Force Master Sgt. Stephen Hull, 32, a native of Covina, Calif., died Sunday of injuries in Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Tex.
The disaster occurred when three aircraft of an Italian air force aerobatics team crashed during a display at the base and one of them engulfed spectators in flames.
The statement said 59 people were still hospitalized with burns and other injuries. Of the 53 West Germans injured, seven were listed in serious condition.
Hull was assigned to the Air Force Service Information and News Center, Kelly Air Force Base, Tex. He is survived by his wife, Deborah.
