No sooner was Canadian sprinter Ben Johnson stripped of his Olympic gold medal for using steroids than filming began in Eugene, Ore. on a movie about an athlete’s use of the body-building drug. “The Finish Line” is being produced by Los Angeles-based Phoenix Entertainment for Turner Network Television, a new cable channel that made its debut Monday. The movie, scheduled to air in January, is about an 18-year-old track star who uses steroids in an effort to excel and please his family, said actor Josh Brolin, who stars as the athlete. Brolin’s dad, James Brolin, plays his coach and movie father.
