The 20th anniversary of Stanley Kubrick’s milestone science fiction film, “2001: A Space Odyssey,” will be commemorated with a one-month screening of the movie at the Reuben H. Fleet Space Theater and Science Center, beginning next week. A new 70-millimeter print of the 140-minute film will be shown four days a week on the center’s Omnimax screen. Jeffrey Kirsch, the center’s executive director, said he wanted “to show people what the large screen experience is really like.” Showings begin Oct. 14 at 8 p.m. and will be repeated through Nov. 13 at 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and at 5 p.m. Sundays. Tickets are $6.50 for adults, $4.50 for children, $5 for seniors. Tickets include admission to the Science Center.
