Sunny Hills (4-1) opened the scoring 5 seconds into the second quarter on Beuerlein’s 5-yard touchdown pass to Jeff Kight. The score, which came 9 plays after the Lancers took over at the Brea-Olinda 49 following a punt, was set up by a 20-yard Beuerlein pass to Pizula, which brought the ball to the Wildcat 10.

Three minutes later, Sunny Hills extended its lead to 14-0 on Soloman’s 60-yard touchdown run.

Brea-Olinda (1-4), which rebuffed a late first-half Sunny Hills scoring bid when Dean Snyder intercepted a Beuerlein pass at the Wildcat 20, saw Sunny Hills extend its lead to 21-0 with three minutes gone in the third quarter on Kenny Overby’s 3-yard run. Overby’s score capped a 63-yard, 9-play drive.
