Fast Play took the lead with five-sixteenths of a mile remaining and drew away for a seven-length victory in the $200,000 Breeders’ Futurity at Keeneland in Lexington, Ky.
Ridden by Angel Cordero, the 2-year-old son of Seattle Slew ran the 1 1/16 miles in 1:45 1/5 for his first stakes victory and third win in 5 starts.
Second was Lorenzoni, with Randy Romero up, while Bio, the 4-5 favorite with Laffit Pincay aboard for the first time, was 5 lengths back in third place.
Fast Play paid $7.60, $3.80 and $2.40; Lorenzoni returned $3.80 and $2.20, and Bio paid $2.20.
