No arrests have been made in a string of Halloween night shootings in Southeast San Diego, police said Tuesday.

Three separate drive-by shootings occurred within 15 minutes Monday night. Police said, however, that they have no evidence that the shootings were connected or that they were gang-related.

A 26-year-old woman who was killed while standing outside a house in the 800 block of 41st Street was identified by the coroner Tuesday as Mary Ann McNeil. Witnesses said she was shot in the head when three men drove by in a yellow Ford Pinto, according to Police Sgt. Jim Long.

Another person was killed at 8:09 p.m. in the 3000 block of Imperial Avenue. Devin Terrell Ash, 21, was reportedly shot by two men in a gray Ford Mustang, Long said. Ash, a resident of Gamma Street in San Diego, was pronounced dead at UC San Diego Medical Center.

Two other people were injured as the men in the Mustang drove along Imperial Avenue, apparently firing randomly at people on the streets and sidewalks, Long said. Both were taken to UC San Diego Medical Center for treatment.

Isiah Bugs, 24, who was shot in the buttocks and thigh, was in good condition Tuesday, a hospital nursing supervisor said. Richard Holmes, 19, was upgraded from critical to fair condition Tuesday after undergoing surgery for a gunshot wound to the chest.

Another shooting victim was identified Tuesday as Michael E. Smith of Euclid Avenue in San Diego, who was shot in the back while walking in the 3800 block of National Avenue about 8:15 p.m. Smith told police he felt a stinging in his back and realized he had been shot by a group of five or six men wearing Halloween masks who drove by in a red Suzuki Samurai, according to Long. No information was available Tuesday on Smith’s condition.
