West Hollywood : AIDS Conference Planned
The City Council has voted to co-sponsor a regional AIDS conference next year with the National Assn. of People With AIDS. The city will donate the use of its Plummer Park facilities and up to $4,000 for the conference.
The 3-day event, scheduled Feb. 10-12, will include presentations on patient rights, housing and hospice care, safe sex, choosing doctors, women with AIDS and starting food banks.
The conference, titled, “From Heart to Heart: Power Through Communication,” will be free to people with AIDS, those who test positive for HIV and those with symptoms of HIV infection. The cost to other participants will be $150.
