Arizona State’s track and field program was put on probation for 2 years by the National Collegiate Athletic Assn. for 11 violations that included paying athletes and falsifying qualifying times.

Clyde Duncan, who was fired as track and field coach last spring, would have to appear before the NCAA Infractions Committee if he applied for a job at an NCAA institution in the next 5 years.

Arizona State’s track and field program was put on 2 years’ probation by the Pacific 10 Conference last June after the school conducted its own investigation of the alleged violations.
