A man with Alzheimer’s disease, who had wandered away from his Lemon Grove home Tuesday, was found Friday afternoon at a downtown San Diego bus depot, his daughter said.

San Diego police found Norman A. Serrano, 72, at the Greyhound bus station about 1 p.m. and took him back to his home, where he lives in a house behind his daughter, Jo Ann Lulow.

“He’s in good shape, but he greatly needs a bath,” said Lulow, who was driving down University Avenue looking for her father at the time police found him.

Lulow said that, when she arrived home from work Tuesday, her father was gone. She said he had never wandered away before, adding that he moved into the neighborhood only two weeks ago from San Diego and could have easily gotten lost.

She said her father does not fully remember where he was in the three days he was missing, but does remember checking into a hotel.

“I and my three kids are going to watch him closely and give him an identification bracelet to wear,” she said.
