Sheriff’s deputies are planning to display for possible victims $100,000 in jewelry recovered in Norwalk during the arrest of a drug suspect, officials said Friday.

Detectives, acting on a tip that a man was exchanging drugs for stolen property, raided a hotel room Wednesday and recovered the stolen jewelry, semiprecious stones and rare coins, authorities said.

John W. Lamers, 38, of Norwalk was taken into custody by Sheriff’s Department detectives who burst into his room at the Norwalk Hotel at 11907 Firestone Blvd., Deputy Richard Dinsmoor said. About $20,000 in cocaine, methamphetamine, hashish and marijuana was also found, he said.
