A premature baby kidnaped from a Little Rock hospital Nov. 1 by a woman posing as a nurse was found in good condition Monday after a tip to a hot line, authorities said.

Christopher Michael Jones, who weighed only four pounds at birth, was found at a Hot Springs home by FBI agents and police responding to a call from “a concerned citizen,” Little Rock Detective Ronnie Smith said.

A woman was being held by Hot Springs police and would be questioned by Little Rock detectives, he said.

Authorities took Christopher to AMI National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs for “examination, identification and safekeeping,” hospital executive director Warner Kass said.

“The baby appears to be healthy,” Smith said. “The baby has been well taken care of. At this point, he seems OK.”

A positive identification was made through a footprint, said Ron Wolfe of the FBI’s Little Rock office.

He said the baby would be returned to Doctors Hospital in Little Rock, 50 miles northeast of Hot Springs.
