Local News in Brief : Liberace’s Aide Sentenced in Thefts

Share

A man who once sued entertainer Liberace for palimony was placed on three years’ probation Monday and credited with time already served in jail for his role in a series of robberies in Los Angeles County.

Scott Alan Thorson, 31, was also sentenced to a year in County Jail, but the judge credited him with the 348 days he has spent in custody.

Thorson pleaded guilty in July to one count of robbery for his role in a ring that prosecutors said staged a series of violent robberies. He is awaiting trial on unrelated charges of receiving stolen property.

Thorson lived in Liberace’s Las Vegas home and worked as bodyguard and servant before the entertainer died last year of complications of AIDS.
