A 7-year-old girl remained in a coma Thursday from injuries received in a traffic accident that killed her mother in Canoga Park, authorities said.

Lenora Miller, 33, of West Hills died Wednesday night when her car was struck as she pulled out of a driveway on Roscoe Boulevard just west of Canoga Avenue, said Sgt. Larry Manion of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division.

Sarah Miller, 7, suffered massive head injuries and a broken thigh and was airlifted to Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, Manion said.

Deloris Deal, 39, of Encino, who was also a passenger in Miller’s car, was taken to West Hills Hospital, where she was treated for minor injuries and released, Manion said.

Miller had just pulled out of the driveway of a private home when her car was struck by an eastbound vehicle. Miller’s car was pushed across Roscoe Boulevard and into another car, Manion said.

No one was injured in the other two cars, and the driver of the eastbound car was not cited in the accident because Miller had violated his right of way, Manion said.
