Mark Karpun’s two third-period goals led the Dallas Sidekicks to a 7-4 Major Indoor Soccer League victory over the Los Angeles Lazers Sunday.

Tatu, the league’s leading scorer, opened scoring for Dallas (5-3), but went to the ground midway through the fourth quarter clutching the same knee he injured last season.

He walked off under his own power, though, and returned with 4 minutes to play.

Mark Collins scored two goals for the Lazers (3-4).

Willie Molano put the Sidekicks up 2-0 with 1:56 left in the first quarter, the first time this year the team has scored more than once in the opening period.

The Lazers pulled to within one when Doc Lawson tried to block Gary Heale’s shot and tipped it into his own net.

The Lazers added a goal in the third period when Jim Gabarra slipped a shot past Krys Sobieski.
