Local News in Brief : Man Charged With Killing His Parents
- Share via
The district attorney’s office has filed first-degree murder charges against Jeffrey Percell in the shooting deaths of his parents, who were found slain in their Sierra Madre home Nov. 16.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Percell, 30, who was last seen by police Nov. 15, when he answered the door of his parents’ house. Officers had been contacted by his father’s employer after the elder Percell did not show up for work. Police returned the next day and found the bound and gagged bodies of John Henry Percell and Doris Alice Percell, both 61, in separate bedrooms.
Jeffrey Percell, who lived with his parents on and off for the last few years, had reportedly threatened them after they notified authorities of his drug use, Sheriff’s Lt. Ken Chausse said.
Because the charges against Percell allege special circumstances in the murders, he could face the death penalty if convicted.
