Local News in Brief : Anaheim : Woman Slain; Police Hold Brother-in-Law

A 25-year-old Anaheim woman was shot to death Friday morning in her apartment, and her brother-in-law was taken into custody on suspicion of murder, police reported.

Rosalinda Nava was found dead from gunshot wounds at the Ridgewood Garden Apartments at 1730 N. Temple St., according to Anaheim Police Sgt. David Severson.

Details of the incident were incomplete, but Severson said police responded to reports of a shooting shortly after 11 a.m.

Nava’s brother-in-law, Sergio Alcala, who was at the scene when the police arrived, was taken into custody and remained Friday night in the Anaheim City Jail.

Severson said Alcala was arrested after officers interviewed witnesses at the apartment.
