Man Killed by Train

A 31-year-old transient who apparently was sleeping on railroad tracks was struck by an Amtrak passenger train late Friday, authorities said.
Ruben S. Martinez, 31, with no known address, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, coroner’s officials said. The incident occured about 10:30 p.m. at 500 S. Grand Ave. in Santa Ana.
