Golden West’s Rowe Won’t Return to White Sox
From Associated Press
Don Rowe, a teacher and coach at Golden West College, will not return to the Chicago White Sox next season as pitching coach, a team spokesman announced Tuesday.
Rowe was unable to obtain a sabbatical from Golden West, the spokesman said. Rowe needs 2 years for retirement and pension purposes, and decided to remain at the school, where he is a teacher and football coach.
Rowe, hired as pitching coach in December 1987, will be replaced by Sammy Ellis.
