On The Line won his first stakes race since last winter Saturday when he raced to a 5 1/2-length victory in the $81,400 Hollywood Express at Hollywood Park.

Held in third place by jockey Gary Stevens, On The Line turned on his speed in the stretch to dominate the field of 6 in the 6-furlong race that was moved from the turf course to the main track by earlier rains. He was timed in 1:09 1/5. The win was his second since returning from a 10-month layoff.

Little Red Cloud, ridden by Aaron Gryder, came from far off the pace to finish second. Faro, with Corey Black up, was third.

On The Line was ranked as a top stakes horse last winter at Santa Anita when he captured the Malibu and San Fernando stakes, but he finished third to Alysheba in the Strub Stakes before being sidelined with minor leg problems.

On The Line, the 4-5 favorite, paid $3.60, $2.80 and $2.40. Little Red Cloud returned $6.20 and $3.60. Faro paid $3 to show.
