Courtie Miller scored 27 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, Darren Cox had 16 points and Kevin Flanagan added 14 as undefeated Torrey Pines won its eighth consecutive game Saturday, defeating Anchorage (Alaska), 80-46, in the second round of the Chart House/Lt. Mitchell boys’ basketball tournament.

This is the third year in a row Torrey Pines has started 8-0.

Alaska Anchorage (8-2) scored the game’s first 6 points, but Torrey Pines stormed back with an 18-point run.

“That really set the tempo for the game,” Torrey Pines Coach John Farrell said. “The kids played hard again defensively, and when you do that and make your free throws, it’s a tough combination to beat.”
