An anonymous donor has saved Dallas Mavericks assistant coach Garfield Heard from a possible jail sentence in Phoenix by paying the $1,800 in child support that the former Phoenix Suns player owed.
A judge had warned that Heard would have to come up with the back payments or be jailed 30 days for contempt. Shari Howard, an attorney for Heard’s ex-wife, Kathleen Heard, said an anonymous donor called her and offered to pay the money in Garfield Heard’s behalf.
