Collins Scores 3 Goals to Lead Lazers to 8-7 Victory

Michael Collins scored 3 goals Monday night to lead the Lazers to an 8-7 Major Indoor Soccer League victory over the Wichita Wings before 4,951 in the Forum.
Steve Kinsey added 2 goals for the Lazers (6-9). Also scoring for the Lazers were Mark Frederickson, Jim Gabarra and Gary Heale.
Chico Borja scored 3 goals and had 1 assist for Wichita (6-6). Also scoring for the Wings were Mike Stankovic, Dale Ervine, Erik Rasmussen and Victor Moreland.
The score was tied, 3-3, at halftime. The Lazers trailed, 6-5, after three quarters, but they got consecutive goals from Frederickson, Kinsey and Collins to take an 8-6 advantage. Moreland scored with 3:42 remaining to complete the scoring.
The Lazers outshot the Wings, 34-33. Lazer goalkeeper Jim Gorsek was credited with 12 saves, and Wichita goalkeeper Chris Vacarro was credited with 13 saves.
