Boxer Mitch Green, whose driver’s license already has been suspended 54 times, was arrested early today on charges of driving while intoxicated and drug possession, police said.

Green, 31, of Queens was arrested at 2:08 a.m. at West 103rd St. and 7th Avenue in the Harlem section of Manhattan, said police spokesman Sgt. Maurice Howard.

Green was charged with driving while intoxicated and possession of a controlled substance, angel dust or PCP, Howard said.

Charged With Assault

In September, Green was arrested and charged with third-degree assault for allegedly striking a woman, police said.

He was also charged in September on another day with disorderly conduct after police found him “ranting and raving” on a Harlem street, authorities said. He was later charged with driving with a suspended license and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Police said then that his license had been suspended 54 times.

Green lost a bout with Mike Tyson for the United States Boxing Assn. heavyweight title in 1986.

On Aug. 23, Green and Tyson got into a fight outside a 24-hour clothing boutique in Harlem, but Green eventually dropped assault charges he had filed against Tyson.
