Sports : Diagnosis Wrong; Boxer to Return

Terry Marsh, the fighting fireman who abandoned a world boxing title 16 months ago when he was told he had epilepsy, said today the diagnosis was wrong and he will return to the ring in March.

Marsh continued to work as a firefighter even after winning the International Boxing Federation junior welterweight crown in March, 1987. But he was forced to give up his title and his job after passing out several times outside the ring and getting the epilepsy diagnosis. But he said further medical tests showed that he actually was suffering from hypoglycemia, an abnormally low level of blood sugar, and that his blackouts occurred when he binged on chocolate bars after fights.
