In Brief : Malone Leads All-Star Center Vote

Atlanta’s Moses Malone holds a narrow lead over New York’s Patrick Ewing in voting for the starting Eastern Conference center in the NBA All-Star Game.

Malone has received 194,286 votes and Ewing has 193,435. Brad Daugherty of Cleveland is third with 126,729, followed by Robert Parish of Boston with 106,012.

Michael Jordan of Chicago leads Eastern Conference players with 474,658 votes. Isiah Thomas of Detroit is second among guards with 179,721 and Mark Price of Cleveland is third with 153,609.

Dominique Wilkins of Atlanta is the top vote-getter at forward with 319,115. Charles Barkley of Philadelphia is second with 214,354, followed by Larry Nance of Cleveland with 150,346.

The All-Star Game will be played Feb. 12 at the Astrodome in Houston.
