Two New York Mets 1988 draft choices have been arrested for investigation of breaking into 16 dormitory rooms on the University of Colorado campus, police said.

Patrick Michael Kokora, 18, and Jeffrey Allen Seale, 18, both of Boulder, were arrested Monday for investigation of second-degree burglary. They have been banned from the Colorado campus as a condition of their bonds, officials said.

Although both were drafted by the New York Mets in 1988, neither signed with the team.

Seale, a right-handed pitcher, was the highest Colorado high school draft pick in 10 years when he was picked as the Mets’ No. 2 draft selection. He attends the University of Texas at Austin.

Kokora, a shortstop, is attending Howard Junior College in Big Spring, Tex.

Dead-bolted doors were kicked open in 16 dormitory rooms at Sewall Hall during the night of Dec. 26-27, according to campus police. One of the rooms, belonging to Kokora’s former girlfriend, was ransacked, and audio cassette tapes were taken, according to an affidavit filed for the arrests.

Kokora and Seale also allegedly kicked in other doors that same night and threw things around, according to the affidavit.
