Manastash Ridge Wins Los Feliz by 1 1/2 Lengths

Manastash Ridge, a son of Seattle Slew, held off a late challenge to win the $81,000 Los Feliz Stakes by 1 1/2 lengths in record time Wednesday at Santa Anita.

With Laffit Pincay aboard, Manastash Ridge covered the mile in 1:35 4/5 and earned $47,250 for the victory. The race’s previous record was 1:36 1/5 by Badger Land in 1986.

Morlando, ridden by Fernando Valenzuela, was second, 3 lengths ahead of Magnetized, with Corey Black aboard.

Favored by bettors in the crowd of 22,234, Manastash Ridge paid $4, $3 and $2.80. Morlando returned $5.20 and $5.40, and Magnetized, a 60-2 longshot, paid $10.40.
