A pre-dawn fire destroyed five classrooms at Tranquillity High School in western Fresno County, causing more than $1.2 million damage and forcing the district to cancel classes through today. Supt. Gary Groth estimated that the destroyed classrooms represented between 15% and 20% of the classrooms used by the 800 students who attend the rural school.
