Orange County sheriff’s deputies were searching this morning for an inmate who escaped a minimum security branch jail in El Toro.

A guard noticed that Michael Thomas King, 26, was missing from his bunk at the James A. Musik Jail about 10:40 p.m. Thursday, Sheriff’s Sgt. Pete Gannon said.

King was arrested by Anaheim Police on Dec. 23 on a bench warrant charging him with violating probation by having a hypodermic syringe. He was scheduled to be released April 13.
