Harvard 78, Bell-Jeff 71--The Saracens, who trailed by as many as 10 points in the first half, outscored Bell-Jeff, 39-25, in the second half to notch a surprising San Fernando Valley League win at Harvard. Mike Beckwith scored a team-high 21 points and Rick Osterloh scored 10 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter for Harvard.

Bell-Jeff guard Greg Dunn, who scored a game-high 26 points, was knocked unconscious in a fourth-quarter collision with Osterloh. Nick Sanderson scored 24 for the Guards (19-4, 7-3), who dropped their second consecutive game.

Notre Dame 71, Chaminade 68--Ken Hicks scored a game-high 27 points and Brian Jones added 19 to help the Knights to a San Fernando Valley League win at Chaminade. With Notre Dame trailing, 61-60, with about four minutes to play, the Knights (16-8, 10-0) received a two-shot technical foul when fans threw debris on the court. Brian Jones made both free throws and Notre Dame hung on to clinch an undefeated league season.

Pete Miller (25 points), Chris Bruckner (14) and Charlie Fei (12) paced the Eagles (8-12, 3-7).

Westlake 58, Channel Islands 49--Westlake converted 21 of 35 field-goal attempts (60%) against the host Raiders, who finished a winless Marmonte League season. Senior center Kurt Schwan scored a game-high 25 points and had 16 rebounds to lead Westlake (15-9, 8-4), which placed third in league play. Schwan made 10 of 14 shots.

Royal 82, Thousand Oaks 65--Royal (12-12, 7-5) must hope for an at-large playoff berth after finishing fourth in the Marmonte League. The host Highlanders built a 45-31 halftime lead, but Thousand Oaks (10-13, 5-7), led by Jeff Peterson (team-high 15 points), trimmed Royal’s lead to eight late in the third quarter.

J. P. Ouellette, however, made a three-point basket--his 61st of the season--to douse the Lancers’ rally. Ouellette finished with a game-high 28 points.

Burroughs 84, Burbank 67--Marnie Calderon scored 20 points and had eight assists and Dan Murphy added 18 points to lead the Indians (17-6, 9-1) in a Foothill League game at Burbank.

Kahyeed Murray scored 14, and Paul Tapp and Edmundo Zepeda each scored 13 for Burbank (5-16, 4-6).

Hart 86, Schurr 73--Hart (13-10, 7-3) captured second place in the Foothill League with the win at Schurr. Senior forward Brett Wilson scored a game-high 27 points. Frank Butterfield (16 points, seven assists), Chad Fotheringham (11), Rob Curwen (10) scored in double figures for Hart.

Saugus 56, Canyon 55--Aaron Volpe hit a three-point basket with four seconds left as Saugus snapped a 19-game losing streak in the Golden League game. Canyon led, 55-47, with two minutes left but failed to score thereafter.

Trailing, 55-51, Saugus (2-20, 1-9) narrowed the deficit to two with 30 seconds left when John Harris scored after intercepting an inbounds pass.

Sean Legaux (19 points) and Andy Regenberg (17) led Saugus. Jamil Austin had 19 points and Rob Caulfield added 18 points for Canyon (8-14, 3-7).
