Californian to Head Council for Housing

Karney Hodge, director of the California Housing Finance Agency, has been elected president of the National Council of State Housing Agencies.

NCSHA is a national trade association comprised of state housing finance agencies that issue revenue bonds to underwrite single-family and multifamily housing for low- and moderate-income households.

“Of paramount priority for the future success of home ownership programs is the extension of the federal mortgage revenue bond authority,” Hodge said, “and we will continue to support legislation that extends this valuable financing tool.” Under his direction, the California Housing Finance Agency was one of the first agencies to receive Standard & Poor’s “Top-Tier” designation.
