Share

Hoover High finished with a 7-16 record but junior forward John Hillman (25.3 points a game) moved into second place on the school single-season scoring list, bumping brother Joe into third place. John finished with 675 points to Joe’s 661, also achieved in his junior year.

But Joe, who plays at Indiana, need not be too angry at his brother: He’s perched on the top rung. As a senior in 1983-84, Joe scored 1,074 points--averaging 41.3 points a game--and finished his three-year career with 2,213 points.

Records: Reseda’s victory over Monroe on Friday marked the Regents’ ninth win, one more than the team had in the previous two seasons combined. Reseda (9-10) was 6-13 in 1986-87 and 2-14 in 1987-88.
