The U.S. International University men’s basketball team plays its final home game of the season tonight when the Gulls meet Point Loma Nazarene College at 7:30 in Golden Hall.

USIU defeated Missouri-Kansas City, 102-96, in overtime Monday to improve to 10-14. A victory over PLNC, an NAIA team, would equal the most victory in a season since Coach Gary Zarecky took over the program four years ago. USIU was 11-17 in 1986-87, Zarecky’s second season.

A victory over the Crusaders would also give USIU a chance to post the most victories since the team joined NCAA Division I in 1979. USIU’s best season was 13-12 in 1980-81 under Coach Freddie Goss.

After tonight, USIU plays at the University of South Dakota (Feb. 20) and then comes back to San Diego to play San Diego State at the Sports Arena (Feb. 25). The Gulls close out their season Feb. 28 at the University of San Diego.
