Padres Win Terrell Arbitration Case
From Associated Press
SAN DIEGO —
An arbitrator ruled today in favor of the San Diego Padres in the arbitration case involving pitcher Walt Terrell.
Terrell, who was acquired during the off-season from the Detroit Tigers, will earn $775,000 this year, rather than the $941,000 he requested.
The hearing was held Thursday before arbitrator Richard Kasher. Arguing on behalf of the Padres was Tal Smith, who will be the Padres’ acting general manager on a temporary basis beginning Wednesday.
