IN BRIEF : Racing Steward Gerard Burke Dies

NEW YORK —
Gerard Burke, until recently the steward for the New York Racing Assn., died in his sleep Thursday night at his home in Bellmore, N.Y. He was 62. Burke was appointed NYRA steward in 1979 after serving as steward for the New York State Racing and Wagering Board. He is survived by his wife, Pat, and two sons. Funeral arrangements were incomplete.
