Although Adrian Dantley missed a contractual reporting deadline, the Dallas Mavericks notified the National Basketball Assn. that they have waived their right to negate a trade with the Detroit Pistons involving Mark Aguirre for Dantley.
The notification means Aguirre, who was traded to Detroit Wednesday, will be able to play for Detroit tonight at Golden State.
Dantley’s wife, mother and agent, David Faulk, assured Maverick officials that Dantley planned to join the team, probably next week. All three said Dantley needed time to adjust to the trade.
