A German tourist bicycling from San Clemente to San Francisco sought Seal Beach police help Sunday to look for his female companion after the two became separated along the Pacific Coast Highway.

Erich Griesboeck, 49, of West Germany was bicycling north on PCH on Saturday when he and Anke Beate Pahl, 33, became separated, police dispatcher Beth Clarke said. Pahl was driving a white, 1979 Ford pickup with a brown stripe and a bike rack, she said.

Foul play is not suspected, but police are attempting to re-unite the pair.

Pahl, who speaks English, is 5 feet, 6 inches tall, 100 pounds, with long blonde hair, worn in braids, Clarke said. She also has a Husky dog with her.
